L’émiratie Masdar spécialisée dans les énergies renouvelables, a signé un accord de feuille de route avec les autorités éthiopiennes concernant son projet de construction de centrales solaires d’une capacité maximale de 500 MW dans le pays.
Cet accord fait suite à la signature d’un accord de développement conjoint entre les deux parties lors de la Semaine du développement durable d’Abu Dhabi 2023 en janvier.
Il s’agit d’un projet qui pourrait augmenter de plus de 10 % la capacité totale de production d’énergie installée de l’Éthiopie, qui est d’environ 4 898 MW. Il devrait également lui permettre de diversifier son bouquet énergétique qui est dominé à hauteur de 91 % par l’hydroélectricité.
