Release by Scatec a lancé le 22 septembre deux centrales solaires hybrides avec stockage par batterie qui ont une capacité de 36 MW et 20MW/19MWh de stockage. Ces centrales sont situées à Maroua et Guider, dans le Grand-Nord Cameroun, et ont fait l’objet d’un contrat de location conclu par Release avec ENEO, une compagnie d’électricité, en 2021.
« Nous sommes heureux que ce jour soit enfin arrivé et que nous puissions célébrer cette étape majeure chez Release, où nous sommes fiers de rendre l’énergie renouvelable facilement accessible et abordable sur les marchés en croissance », a déclaré Hans Olav Kvalvaag, PDG de Release.
Maroua et Guider sont présentées comme une solution innovante avec plus de 44 800 panneaux solaires biface montés sur des trackers, ce qui permettra de maximiser la production d’énergie tout au long de la journée. Elles produiront 80 GWh d’électricité par an et permettront d’éviter l’émission 60 000 tonnes de CO2 par an.
